The lake is so depressingly low and there is a lot of garbage around the periphery. Humans have never seen anything that they did not destroy due to their ignorance.
BTW the nature was awesome. Trail is partly shaded throughout, lots of wildflowers, the creek is running low and cold. If you're bringing your pups, be aware that the trail gets hot in the unshaded areas. The lake is low, doesn't take long to walk around it. Plenty of picnic tables in the shade when you get there. Restrooms were open today, they aren't always. Thankfully we got lucky with a cloudy sky making the small hike bearable.
Found some trash, picked it up and threw it away at the start of the trail. A cute walk in the woods popular with people hanging out and having a picnic, etc. Nothing hard. Lake is very low. Steady mild incline for the first mile, then it levels out. There was quite a bit of snow along the sides of the trail and around the lake. Very fun for the kids!
Restrooms were closed. Very clear and easy to follow trail. There are a number of switchbacks as you go up, but it is a fairly easy walk.
