Where is marek malcanus

My sincere thanks to all of you for all the quick responses and information. I will talk to Marek to start things rolling, complete the four prerequisite quests in order, and hope everything turns out well from there.

You don't need to talk to Marek, just do the four quests in the series. The correct way is just to run the 4 flagging quests in whatever order you choose, without ever talking to anyone except the individual quest-givers.

Marek is supposed to make it clearer, but in actuality, using him opens you up to various bugs in the flagging process that you can simply avoid. Marek is just an evil newbie-trap. The House K patron should be there by the entrance. Don't go in, but instead go behind the bank entrance don't go down the stairs and across the bridge. Barrow should be standing next to another door. But in its current version, two of the members of the Laughing Knives were actually involved or tricked directly by members of the Inspired.

Mistress Orphne was actually drugged on an Inspired assassin and Haywire was tricked by a member of the Inspired who infected his warforged with a mind controlling parasite.

So who exactly are the Inspired? The Inspired are a group of fanatical followers of the Dar Quat. They are actually being mind controlled by the members of Dol Quor of the Realm of Dreams, in particular the Devourer of Dreams. The Inspired currently have rebuild the Stormreach Harbor and are recruiting members to their cult and their storyline appears much later in the events of Stormreach.

So why then do they appear in the storyline of the Laughing Knives and the Vault of Night? Everything ties back to the ever important prophecy, which details the events of the Stormreaver and the Truthful One and what will occur afterwards. He asks your help to reunite the gang after they failed to breach the Vault of Night.

These 4 quests are single-groupable, and are obtained first by speaking to Barrow d'Kundarak in the northeast corner of House K behind the bank, followed by speaking to Marek Malcanus in the Ever Full Flagon tavern also located in House K.

All 4 initial quests are given by Marek. VoN 5 is given by Barrow, and 6 is directly accessed at the end of 5. In order to repeat the Dragon Raid, you must wait for the repeat timer to expire. At this point you can speak to Barrow d'Kundarak and he will give you the task of speaking to Marek again you don't even need to select "Repeat this quest".

Quest is obtained through 2 - Speak to Zerchi Spire-Keeper in the north area of the market, and get passage to the Restless Isles. This will allow you speak to the other members of his crew on the island, including Ostler Caulstone. Quest is given by the wildman chief Opu The Elder. Successful completion will reward the player with the left half of the Shattered Sigil.
